Disney Cruise Craft: Mickey Mouse Hands

Did I mention Irene and I started this project the night before we left for the cruise?!?

This is a left hand.

This was a fast and dirty job.  Trace, cut with a generous seam allowance.
Sew on the lines.

Only sew on the trace lines.  Leave the wrist part unsewn.

Turn glove inside out.
The next step is the tricky part:

Sew along the remaining wrist sections.
Fold wrist section up.  And you should get something which looks like this:

The pattern for the left and right hand side are the same.  Just put the black felt pieces on the appropriate side.

There were 18 people in our Disney Cruise Group.

Update:
Here is a scan of the pattern Irene made.  Print on 8.5x11 paper and tape together at dotted line A.

  1. Hi, I love your gloves! Question: Did you put anything in them or give them as a fe gift? I want to make these as our fe for the cruise door and maybe make them for our fe group and fill them with something. Just wondering.

    1. Sorry this is a late reply.

We made it for our cruise group for a group picture. I wish we did something with them as an FE gift! That's a great idea!

    1. It's just felt -- very acrylic and very cheap at the fabric store.

  5. I so love this idea! In fact I'm in the process of cutting them out (then sewing together) as party favors for my little one's birthday party !

  6. How do you wear them with 4 fingers?

    1. The fingers are quite spacious. I think we just squished our ring and pinky fingers into the same space.

  9. How much fabric did you use for each set of gloves?

    1. I think a quarter yard (9" x 44") would yield one pair of gloves, but that might involve some careful cutting and creative template placement. So maybe a little bigger would be better.

  10. So cute! What kind of fabric did you use? Thanks!
